SeaFair 1/2 Marathon News

On Sunday, July 9,  Hamish Anderson, Doug Thompson, Theresa Giloi and Jill Fry all took on the challenging Virginia Mason SeaFair half marathon through the rolling hills of Bellevue.

The day started early as the team got together for an early morning cup of coffee and to go over the race plans.

Doug and Theresa both had a great race, getting solid half marathon PRs, and both finished their race very strong.   Doug had his first sub-2 hour finish with a time of 1:56:26.  Theresa took about 9 minutes off of her best time and finished with a 2:03:44.  This was her second time running a half marathon.  Check out Theresa and Doug's Race Reports here.

Hamish Anderson finished 13th in his AG with a time of 1:45:45.  Jill captured second in her Age Group, running a 1:39:26.  The course seemed to be about .25 miles longer this year than last, perhaps due to the change of start location.  Jill's and Theresa's garmins both measured the course at over 13.37 miles.

A big congratulations as well to all of Jill's PRO Sports Club Boot Camp and PSCT friends who also participated on Sunday.  Runners included Carina, Mike, Danielle, Dave and Shelly.  You may see them among the many photos located at Jill's MSN Spaces site.

My First/Next Triathlon race in Chelan

There were some triathlon performances over the weekend as well.  Julie McNamara-Dahl competed in this race in support of her mom, Sherry Jorgensen, who did her first triathlon.  Julie had a great performance, finishing third in her AG (and under 1 minute behind the AG winner), and her mom won the 65-69 division!  Take a look at both of their race reports here.

Yakima Valley of the Sun Triathlon

Su Chang, Kathy Watson and Anna Boyd also competed this weekend in Yakima at this Olympic distance triathlon.  Be sure to check out Su's and Kathy's  race reports here.
