Cascade's Edge News

It was a big weekend for the Tricoachjill team, as five athletes competed at the Cascade's Edge triathlon, and one athlete did her first 10K run.  It was also an exciting day for the Pro Sports Club Triathlon team.

Theresa Giloi competed in the Fall City Days 10K.  This was Theresa's first 10K, and she exceeded her goal by running 9 minute miles for a time of 55:55.

Brian Guarraci came off a knee injury to compete in his very first triathlon, and what a debut he had!  In the sprint event, Brian put together a solid swim, phenomenal bike and a great run to finish 10th overall and 2nd in his Age Group!  Brian's overall time was 1:09:15.    He was 20th out of the water, had the 6th fastest bike, and the 14th fastest run.   Be sure to read Brian's race report here.  The overall winner of the Sprint was Guy Crawford of blue seventy.  Josh Fitchitt finished third overall, winning his Age Group.  David Treadwell also won his AG with his 6th place overall finish in the Sprint.

Jill also had a solid race, placing third overall and winning her Age Group in the Olympic event.  Jill had a swim PR with a 26:55.  The overall winner, for the second straight year, was Kelly Molaski.  In 2005 Kelly was over 13 minutes ahead of Jill.  This year the gap was down to 6:52.  In second place, 1:30 ahead of Jill, was Danielle Thompson, 35, who won her AG at Ironman Lake Placid in 2004.

Julie MacNamara-Dahl competed in her first Olympic Distance event at this race, and had a very strong finish.  Julie finished in 3:17:26, and ran sub 10's for her final 10K (this was the big goal.. woohoo!).  Also competing on Sunday were Hamish Anderson, 2:44:28 and Jo Ann Sittig, 3:00:00.

PSCT was well represented at the race.  It was exciting to see all of the black and red uniforms on the course.  Visit Jill's msnSpaces site for a large collection of photos, and be sure to check out the race reports from the PSCT ladies.  Below is a nice shot of some of the ladies who participated on Sunday.
