The Black Diamond triathlon weekend represents the last race of the season in the Pacific Northwest for many triathletes.  The good weather managed to hold for one more day as the sun came out for this fantastic race.  Several Tricoachjill athletes participated on Sunday, September 24, including a relay team and a husband and wife team doing their first triathlon.  For an interesting look at the swim start of the ladies sprint, check out this link.           Char and Jason Popp both completed the Olympic distance race as their first triathlon.  They are both going to compete in the Soma half Ironman at the end of October.  Jason managed to complete the race in 2:48:12.  Char dealt with a flat tire, and finished the race in 3:07:16.  See Char's Race Report.                 Jo Ann Sittig and Jess Pollak teamed up to compete in the Sprint relay contest.  Jess did the swim and run, while Jo Ann did the bike course.  The ladies took first in thier division, being the fastest all ladies team.  Their time of 1:17:29 was the third fastest overall, behind an all male team and a mixed team.            Sharon also had a fantastic race, completing the sprint in 1:28:35.  This was Sharon's fourth race of her very first season of triathlons.  Sharon finished 8th in a very tough age group, which includes the overall winner, Patty Swedberg, as well Jill Fry.  Jill finished fourth overall with her time of 1:11:30.  Here is a link to Jill's Race Report, as well as Sharon's.               Pre-race:   Jess, Jill and Jo Ann.
